You see there is nothing closer to the very heart of God than Children!  If you do not teach the children of this community then the world will -- and when they do, Satan will steal their minds & their hearts will soon follow.  There is nothing more noble than to love, honor and care for a child.  No higher calling than to be called to minister to children.  Nothing touches more closely to the very heart of God than discipling children.


Objectives

This internship is designed to expose high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to the multifaceted adventure of Children’s Ministry.  This process will occur in a wide variation of ministerial avenues.  Some of the chief objectives of this program include:


•Provide training in Children’s Ministry

•Help to disciple & develop young leaders in the church

•Provide extra leadership in the children’s department

•Provide hands-on experience in a real working children’s church program.

Time Span

Students who apply for the Generation Jacob CMD Internship agree to a six-month commitment with an opportunity to re-enroll for a second term after an evaluation with the Children’s Pastor.

Advantages

There are many advantageous aspects of this process.  Ministry provides a vehicle for learning that combines relationship with excellence.  The following are a few aspects of what Generation Jacob CMD Interns will learn:


1)Training in the creative ministry arts such as:

•Short sermons

•Object lessons

•Storytelling

•Drama

•Clowning

•Puppetry

•Illusions

•Ventriloquism

•Chalk Art

•And more


2)Conferences

•Church Ministries Conference

•A Local Creative Ministries Conference

•Teacher Training


3)Those who sign up for the second term and spend at least one year in the program will attend the Children’s Pastor Conference with Pastor Roy, in Orlando Florida along with three days free admission to Disney World.

Requirements

This internship isn’t for everyone.  Students who apply should feel a definite call to ministry and should demonstrate an interest in service to children.  They must be ready to face the challenges of ministry with attitudes of patience, servitude, and love.  The following are the requirements for application and possible admission to Generation Jacob CMD.


1)Must be in at least the tenth grade

2)Have high academic performance

3)A daily devotion, bible reading, and prayer life

4)A weekly one-on-one meeting with Pastor Roy

5)A weekly one-on-one meeting with Pastor John

  1. 1)        Youth group, Sunday school and Church                        Attendance

7)A teachable spirit

8)Purity in both spirit, mind and body
